If you are anything like most of our patients and millions of others, you may have a story similar to Dr. Sosnowski’s. You’ve tried multiple treatments from various specialists within traditional medicine without success. You’re frustrated by months or years of suffering without relief.
You name it: migraines or tension headaches, osteoporosis, chronic pain, and rheumatoid arthritis can bring a decline in one’s quality of life. You need care that is focused on solving your problem unrestricted by insurance-based medicine. You need a doctor who can see you when and where you need care; a doctor who can spend quality time with you and stay 100% focused on your healthcare needs. A doctor who really understands how you feel because she has walked in the same shoes.

- Depression, also called Major Depressive Disorder
- Traumatic Brain Injury/Post Concussive Syndrome
- Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Cognitive decline

There is Hope
Maybe you have tried drug therapies that did not work, or that caused unpleasant side effects, or perhaps you have tried other types of therapies that did provide some help, but you are still not experiencing relief. We are here to help.
MeRT is also a treatment that can be used in conjunction with other therapies, and many of our patients have reported that MeRT can also improve the success of accompanying therapies.
You don’t have to decide whether this is right for you right now. There are multiple steps involved in making this decision. Talk to our New Patient Coordinator to get more information. If you are interested, get a consultation with the doctor to see if you may benefit from our services.
What is MeRT?
MeRT, which stands for Magnetic E (EEG/EKG) is a non-pharmaceutical and non-invasive treatment used for various types of brain dysregulation. This treatment utilizes Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, which is also referred to as TMS. TMS in and of itself is more of a one size fits all method of treatment since it uses a fixed frequency to target one single area of the brain.
MeRT is a more sophisticated treatment because it can be customized to each individual’s needs based on the results of the quantitative EEG and EKG. The treatment protocol is completely tailored to each individual’s specific condition based on the location, frequency, and amount of power used by the magnet. This technology works by using a magnetic coil to gently neuromodulate the brain’s electrical activity. A quantitative EEG is performed on each patient in order to determine the exact frequency of the brain. These results are then reviewed and evaluated by the clinical and scientific team at Brain Treatment Center so that the treatment is specific to each patient’s unique condition.
MeRT: Conditions treated include Autism, Traumatic Brain Injuries and Concussions, PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder and Depression, as well as multiple other neurological conditions.
The equipment used in the MeRT treatment process is currently FDA-cleared for the treatment of Depression and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). For all other disorders, it is currently being used “off label.” Studies are taking place through Texas A&M University to seek FDA-clearance for Traumatic Brain Injury and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, but this may be some time before this is completed.
Do You Have Questions?
Our New Patient Coordinator is standing by and ready to answer any questions you may have, explain our protocols and fees, and help you decide if MeRT is the right treatment for you. She can also get your initial EEG and consultation scheduled, as a next step to seeing if you may benefit from MeRT.
